# What is artMETIS

artMETIS is the liquid version of the locked METIS. Same as wstETH/rETH, it represents the METIS staked in the PoS Sequencer Pool of Metis Network.

artMETIS will enable the locking yield and release the capital efficiency of your locked METIS, participate into and earn yields from various DeFi scenarios. Moreover, artMETIS is liquid that users don't need to wait for a specific period of redeeming time window.

To get the artMETIS:

* You can lock through Artemis Finance;
* Purchase from the secondary market;

artMETIS can be redeemed to METIS for a period of a time window which is configured by Metis Network.
